Gaba youth robotics program started January 2023
Kuyamba Ministries is pleased to continue our partnership with FTC Team 16501 Squirrel! from GEARS as we start 2023. Team Squirrel! has helped to provide 16 Lego Boost Kits to kids in Uganda over the past 4 years. They have also provided a Spike Prime Kit and an FLL Field Kit with all the missions. With our new facility in Gaba, after-school robotics programs are being offered throughout the week. The goal is to help them start the first active FLL team in Uganda and register them for the upcoming Fall 2023-2024 FLL season.
We are also pleased to announce our new partnership with Fun Bot Labs from Virginia. Tim Burns, founder of Fun Bot Labs, and his staff worked to gather LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robotics kits. They sent a total of 8 full kids in October 2022. Fun Bot Labs has also helped us begin a new afterschool robotics program in Gaba by supporting Kuyamba with fifty percent of our facility rental costs. Over this next year, Tim and Fun Bot Labs will send dozens of robotics kids to Gaba. Our after-school program began a few weeks ago, and the kids have begun learning. We are excited about this partnership and to see what is to come!
